Relax and Build Muscle at the Same Time |

It may sound a little contradictory but it is possible to build muscle and relax in the same workout. I found the perfect blend of strength exercises with relaxation techniques in a pilates class. A pilates workout will focus on strengthening those core muscles of the abdomen and back. At first I shook when doing the routines but as I got stronger I was able to hold moves without that jiggle effect. I have also noticed some great definition showing in my arms and legs since starting the pilates class. Plus my flexibility has increased with the stretching movements included in this dynamic workout.
Pilates offers challenging moves that build muscle. The more I do the routines the stronger I get plus I have become firmer and lost inches. The results came quickly with pilates. I'd say after attending four classes I saw improvement, it was very encouraging. The best part of a pilates class is the relaxation segment. After doing those exercises to build muscle it sure feels good to stretch and listen to mellow tunes. I always leave a pilates workout feeling absolutely fantastic! |
